The team of Rey Mysterio and Batista formed on December 16, 2005 when they faced MNM for the tag titles.They defeated him and became the WWE tag team champions.Later, at a Smackdown! live event, MNM defeated Batista and Mysterio to take back the titles.They soon faced MNM for the titles in a Hell In A Cell at a pay-per-view, but again lost.On January 6, 2006, Batista tore his right triceps in a match against Mark Henry.The team soon split.
At the Hell In A Cell pay per view, In 2009, Batista and Rey Mysterio reunited to face Chris Jericho and Big Show, but lost.Later at the Bragging Rights pay per view, Batista and Rey Mysterio participated in a Fatal Four way match against CM Punk and the World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker.Rey prevented Batista from winning the title.Undertaker put a tombstone on Batista and retained the title.After the match, Batista attacked Mysterio, facing a heel turn, and breaking up the team.
